Dear Talent Share participating members and Fans,

I am happy to announce the following themes for April 2010:

• Design & present - your Jewellery
• Sceneries

Please participate with interest.

I wish to also inform you that we are coming out with the following exciting features from April 2010 for Talent Share Fans and participating members:

1. Talent Share Excellence Tag

A new system to Tag participating members with an exclusively designed Talent Share Excellence Tag, as and when they submit an excellent art work at Talent Share. These will be directly Tagged to their profile. There will be a special award at the end of the year for participants who receive maximum tags.

2. Talent Share Distinguished Promoter (Month / Year)

This is to supplement the “We Did It” campaign and meant for those Talent Share Fans who brings in participating members to Talent Share. Each month-end a special award will be given to those Fans who bring in maximum participating members.

In both the above categories, selection will be made taking only those who follow the simple guidelines for submission of work at Talent Share Fan page. That includes, Name, place, date of posting (and class, school details for students).

In addition, all participating members are kindly requested to update their details at the appropriate topics in the Discussion section (i.e. Participating members log, Birthday register etc).

Enjoy participating, introduce Talent Share to those friends who you feel will benefit from it.

It is festival time in Kerala and I had a picture of a caparisoned temple elephant on my wall at office. The other day, my colleague Souheila brought her little son Wassil to the office. As usual he came to my office and I never realized the picture grabbed his attention till he sent a special gift to me the next day. Here it is for all the Talent Share Fans.

Wassil is a junior class student of Lycee Theodore Mono French School Abu Dhabi.

Dear Talent Share Fans and participating members,

After a short gap, here I am presenting to you an interesting item to the Let’ Try and Do it section of Team 1 Talent share.

How to make artificial flowers using grocery bags?

Presented to us by Mrs. Jean Amin, Abu Dhabi, please find below the step-by-step method to make flowers with plastic grocery bags. The simple steps and method involved are detailed below and photographs are attached.

Materials required:

1. Thin wire (available in craft stores)
2. Plastic grocery bags (any colour)
3. White & Green floral tape (available in craft stores)
4. Thread
5. Pollen (available in craft stores)
6. Scissors
7. Wire cutter

Methods:

1. Measure the wire around four fingers, twist & cut

2. Make 3 or 5 such loops

3. Wrap the plastic around the wire firmly & secure it with a thread & cut off extra plastic

4. Make a smaller (3 fingers) loop with the wire for the leaf & wrap a green plastic around it

5. Take 3 pollens, fold in half & tie a wire around it tightly to form the stem

6. Cover 1/4th of the wire with white floral tape

7. Join the petals one by one to the stem & tie each petal with thread & finally secure all together

8. Wrap with green floral tape till about 1/4th of the wire. Attach the leaf & continue wrapping the green floral tape till the end

“We did it” – Talent Search Campaign
Dear Participating members and Fans of Team 1 Talent Share,

I am coming to you all with a special campaign this time. As the name denotes, it is a collective effort. A visit to one of the school here and a casual talk with a teacher prompted me to create this campaign.

There are many hidden talents within our near vicinity. Some of them, fortunately or unfortunately do not have the facility of computers at home, or even if they have, they are not familiar with talent upload sites and Fan pages. Certain others could not participate due to restrictions of various type. Some others have inhibitions or contempt to such progressive initiatives.

What we are going to do through this campaign is simple:

1. Look around for un-exhibited and hidden talents amongst your contacts

2. Identify and convince them and volunteer to exhibit their creative work

3. Obtain their permission to scan and forward their creativity for exhibition at Talent Share.

4. Post them directly at Talent Share Fan page on Face Book, keeping in mind the simple guidelines for posting or email them to team1dubai@gmail.com

5. Once posted, invite them along with your friends to view them at Talent Share blog and Fan pages.

6. Applaud yourself and feel the contentment of bringing out a talent to a global audience.

7. Both you and the artists receive the appreciation from a world wide audience and enjoy their good will.

Our intention is to have a collective participation of families, friends to present creativity in the best possible way. So, take your time, present only neat work.

As you know, dedicated efforts are in progress to exhibit creative work submitted by Talent Share Fans at various forums and media initiatives.

Spread the word around. Start searching for that precious un-identified pearl amongst your contact circle and introduce their work at Talent Share.

Let this be start of an evolution of a chain reaction. Yes, let us all say together – A Talent or Knowledge within you is to be shared. And together “We Did It”.

Good luck in advance and become a self campaigner for Talent Share now itself.

ലഹരിയിലേക്ക് ഒരു യാത്ര

ദിവസേന പോലെ അന്നും ആ ബാലന്‍ റോഡിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്നുള്ള ഗേറ്റില്‍ പിടിച്ചു കാഴ്ചകള്‍ കണ്ടു നില്‍ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള്‍ അതാ നടന്നു വരുന്നു ഖാദര്‍. എന്നത്തേയും പോലെ, അന്നും ഖാദര്‍ അഞ്ചുമണിയോട് കൂടി വായനശാല തുറക്കുവാനുള്ള പോക്കായിരുന്നു അത്. ആ കൊച്ചു ഗ്രാമത്തിനെ പുറംലോകവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഏക സ്ഥാപനം ആ ഇടിഞ്ഞു പൊളിഞ്ഞു വീഴരയുള്ള കെട്ടിടത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന വായശലയും, അതിലെ ഉച്ചഭഷിനിയോടു കൂടിയുള്ള ഒരു റേഡിയോ യും ആയിരുന്നു. ഖാദര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു ആ വായനശാല നടത്തിപ്പുക്കാരന്‍. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ കോളേജ് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ഒക്കെ കഴിഞ്ഞു ജോലി അന്വേഷിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു നല്ല ചെറുപ്പക്കാരന്‍ . ഉപജീവനത്തിനു സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരു തുച്ചമായ സംബലത്തില്‍ കൃത്യതയോടെ തന്റെ ജോലി നോക്കിനടത്തിയിരുന്ന ഒരു സാധു മനുഷ്യന്‍. ആ ബാലനും അയാളുടെ കുടുംബവും തമ്മില്‍ ഉള്ള ഏക ബന്ധം, ദിവസേന ആ ബാലന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ നിന്നു ഖാദറിന്റെ അമ്മ വാങ്ങി കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ പാലാണ്. ദാരിദ്ര്യം നിറഞ്ഞു നില്ക്കുന്ന ആ വീട്ടിലെ ഒരേയൊരു സുഖലോലുപതയാണ് ആ ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ പാല്‍. ആ കൊച്ചു ബാലന്റെ അമ്മൂമ്മ സ്നേഹത്തോടെ നല്കുന്ന അളവിലും കൂടുതലുള്ള ആ പാലിന്റെ വില ഖാദറിന് നല്ലവണ്ണം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു. കാരണം, പലപ്പോഴും, പാലിന്റെ വില രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞാലും കൊടുക്കാന്‍ പറ്റാറില്ല.

അന്ന് വൈക്കീട്ടു വായനശാലയിലേക്കുള്ള നടത്തത്തിനിടയില്‍ ഖാദര്‍ ആ കൊച്ചു ബാലനോട് ചോദിച്ചു :

കുട്ടന്‍ വരുന്നോ എന്റെ കൂടെ വായനശാലയിലേക്ക്? കുറച്ചു നല്ല പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ ഞാന്‍ വായിക്കാന്‍ തരാം.

അമ്മൂമയോട് ചോദിച്ചിട്ട് ഞാന്‍ വരാം, ഖാദര്‍ നടന്നോളൂ, കുട്ടി പറഞ്ഞു. അമ്മ സ്കൂളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള വരവും കാത്തുള്ള നില്‍പ്പും കൂടിയായിരുന്നു അത്. അകത്തേക്കോടി, അമ്മൂമയോട് സമതം ചോദിച്ചു, കുട്ടി പതുക്കെ പടിവാതില്‍ തുറന്നു പുറത്തേക്കിറങ്ങി. ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ ബസ്സുകളെ അന്ന് ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ വഴിയിലൂടെ ഓടിയിരുന്നുള്ളൂ . അതിനാല്‍ പതുക്കെ പതുക്കെ വഴിയോരതോടെ ബാലന്‍ ഗ്രാമീണ വായനശാലയെ നോക്കി നടന്നു. അപ്പോഴേക്കും ഖാദര്‍ വായനശാല തുറന്നു റേഡിയോ പ്രവര്തിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതിലൂടെ ആകാശവാണിയുടെ പരിപാടികള്‍ ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ കേള്‍ക്കായിരുന്നു. അത് ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ വായനക്കാര്‍ക്കുള്ള ഒരു സിഗ്നല്‍ കൂടിയായിരുന്നു - ഇതാ ഖാദര്‍ എത്തി, നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് വന്നു പുസ്തകം മാറ്റാം.

പൊട്ടി പൊളിഞ്ഞ വാതില്‍ പതുക്കെ തള്ളി തുറന്നു കൊച്ചു ബാലന്‍ ചിതലരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയ ആ പടികളിലൂടെ സാവധാനം മുകളിലേക്ക് കയറി. തെന്നി വീഴുമോ എന്നുള്ള ഭയമും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നില്ല ആ കുഞ്ഞു മനസ്സില്‍.

വീഴാറായ ഒരു ബെന്ച്ചും ഒരു കൊച്ചു മേശയും ഏതാനും പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ തിക്കി നിറച്ച ഏതാനും അലമാരകളും ആയിരുന്നു അവിടത്തെ കാഴ്ചകള്‍. ഓ , കുട്ടന്‍ വന്നുവോ? തടിച്ച രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ നിന്നു തലയുയര്‍ത്തി ഖാദര്‍ ചിരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു. ഏത് പുസ്തകം വേണമെങ്കിലും കുട്ടന്‍ എടുത്തു വായിച്ചോള്ളൂ, ഖാദര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. എന്താ ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് എന്നറിയാതെ പകച്ചു നിന്ന കുട്ടിയെ കണ്ടു ഖാദര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു - അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ വേണ്ട ഞാന്‍ തന്നെ തരാം. വീഴാറായ വാതിലുള്ള ഒരു അലമാര തുറന്നു ഒരു തടിച്ച പുസ്തകം എടുത്തു രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തു ഖാദര്‍ കുട്ടിക്ക് കൊടുത്തിട്ട് പറഞ്ഞു - കൊട്ടാരത്തില്‍ ശങ്കുണ്ണി എഴുതിയ ഐതിഹ്യമാലയാണ് - ഇതു കൊണ്ടു പോയി വായിച്ചു നോക്കൂ. നല്ല പുസ്തകമാണ്. ഇതു കഴിഞ്ഞാല്‍ വേറെ തരാം.

എന്തോ വലിയ നിധിക്കിട്ടിയപോലെ അടര്‍ന്നു വീഴാറായ ചവിട്ടുപടികളിലൂടെ തിരക്കിട്ട് വീടിലെക്കൊടിയ ആ ബാലന്‍ അന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല അത് ഖാദര്‍ ആ ബാലനില്‍ കുത്തി വച്ച വളരെ വലിയ ഒരു ലഹരിയാണ് എന്ന്.

നേരം ഏകദേശം ഒരു ഏഴ് മണി കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും. സൂര്യന്‍ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് അസ്തമിച്ചു, ഉമ്മറത്തെ വലിയ മാവിന്മേല്‍ പക്ഷികളും, ദേശാടനം നടത്താന്‍ ഇറങ്ങിയ കുറച്ചു കൊക്കുകളും തമ്മില്‍ രാത്രിയിലെ വാസ്സത്തിനുള്ള ഇടത്തിനു വേണ്ടി മത്സ്സരിക്കുന്നു. ഉമ്മറത്ത്‌ ചെറിയ വെളിച്ചത്തില്‍ ഇരുന്നു പുസ്തകത്തിലെ പാഠങ്ങള്‍ പടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു ആ കൊച്ചു കുട്ടി.

എന്നത്തേയും പോലെ അമ്മൂമയും കൂട്ടിനുണ്ട്. അപ്പോള്‍ മുന്‍വശത്തെ ഗേറ്റ് ആരോ തുറക്കുന്ന ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു. ആരാ മോനേ അത്, ഒന്നു എണീറ്റ്‌ നോക്കൂ? കുട്ടി ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നതിന് മുന്പേ ആ പാട്ടിന്റെ വരികള്‍ വീടിലേക്ക്‌ ഒഴുകിയെത്തി. യാരുക്കാകെ യാരുക്കാകെ, ഇന്ത വസന്ത മാളികൈ.....അപ്പോള്‍ ഇന്നും വേലായുധന്‍ നല്ല ഫിറ്റില്‍ ആണ് വരവ് അമ്മൂമ്മ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഏതാനും നിമിഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കകം പടോന്നൊരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു കുട്ടി എന്നീട്ട് നോക്കി. അത് വേലായുധന്റെ വരവാണ്. എന്നത്തേയും പോലെ, വൈക്കീട്ടു പണി ഒക്കെ കഴിഞ്ഞു ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ കള്ള്ഷാപ്പിലേക്കുള്ള തന്റെ നിത്യ സന്ദര്‍ശനവും കഴിച്ചുള്ള വരവാണ്. റോടരികിലുള്ള വഴിവിളക്ക് കത്താന്‍ വേണ്ടി കത്തുകയാണോ എന്ന രീതിയില്‍ ഒരു ചെറിയ പ്രകാശമേ ആകെ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു. എന്നാലും വേലായുധന് വഴിയെല്ലാം മനപാടമാണ് എത്ര ഫിട്ടായാലും. പോകുന്ന വഴി തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ ഒന്നു കയറുക , പിന്നെ പോക്കറ്റില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കൊച്ചു പൊതിയില്‍ നിന്നു രണ്ടു നാരങ്ങ മിട്ടായി അവിടത്തെ കുട്ടികള്ക്ക് കൊടുക്കുക. ഏതെങ്കിലും പഴയ ഒരു ശിവാജി പടത്തിലെയോ എമ്മ്ജിആര്‍ പടത്തിലെയോ ഏതാനും വരികള്‍ പാടുക. ആ കുട്ടികളോടൊപ്പം തന്റെ ഉള്ളിലെ വേദന മറക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമത്തിലായിരുന്നു ആ സാധു. കുട്ടിക്കാലത്ത് എപ്പോളോ തമിള്‍നാട്ടിലെ ഏതോ ഗ്രമ്മത്തില്‍ ജോലിക്ക് പോയതിന്റെ സമ്മാനങ്ങളാണ് ആ നുറുങ്ങു പാട്ടുകള്‍.നാട്ടില്‍ തിരിച്ചെത്തി യജമാനന്‍ നല്കിയ അഞ്ചു സെന്റ് സ്ഥലത്തുള്ള തന്റെ ഓല മേഞ്ഞ പുരയിടത്തിലേക്ക് കിടക്കാന്‍ പോക്കുനതിനു മുന്പുള്ള ദിനചര്യ.

രാവന്തിയോളം രണ്ടു പേരും ആ വീട്ടിലെ സ്ഥിരം പണിക്കരായിരുന്നു - വേറെ ആരുമില്ലാതിരുന്ന അവര്ക്കു എല്ലമെല്ലയിരുന്നു ആ കുടുംബം. അതിലും വലുതായി - അവരുടെ മരിച്ചുപോയ രണ്ടു കൊച്ചുകുട്ടികളുടെ സമ പ്രയക്കരയിരുന്നു ആ വീടിലെ കുട്ടികളും . വീണിടത്ത് നിന്നു പതുക്കെ പതുക്കെ എണീറ്റ് ആ വീടിന്റെ ഉമ്മറത്തേക്ക് അയാള്‍ നടന്നു നീങ്ങി. വേലായുധനും ഭാര്യയും ആ വീട്ടിലെ അംഗങ്ങളെ പോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

കുട്ട്യേ , ഇതു പിടിച്ചോളൂ , ഇന്നു വേലായുധന്റെ കയ്യില് ഇത്രയേ ഉള്ളു. കുഴഞ്ഞ ശബ്ദത്തില്‍ വേലായുധന്‍ പുലമ്പി കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അത് നോക്കി കൊണ്ടു ആ അമൂമ്മ പറഞ്ഞു, എന്താ വേലായുധ ഇതു? എത്ര പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളതാ നിന്നോട്, ഇങ്ങനെ കുടിച്ചിട്ട് സന്ധ്യക്ക്‌ ഈ വഴിക്ക് വരരുതെന്ന്? കുറച്ചു നേരത്തേക്ക് ഒരു മൌനം. എന്താ ചെയ്യാ എമ്ബ്രാട്ടി, ഒരു രണ്ടു മിട്ടായി കയ്യിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അത് ഇവിടെ കുട്ടിക്കള്‍ക്ക് കൊടുത്തിട്ട് പോകാം എന്ന് കരുതി. എനിക്ക് അവിടെ കാത്തിരിക്കാന്‍ വേറെ ആരാ ഉള്ളത്........ആടി ആടി വേലായുധന്‍ ആ പറമ്പിന്റെ അറ്റത്തുള്ള തന്റെ കൊച്ചു പുരയിലേക്ക്‌ പതുക്കെ നടന്നു നീങ്ങി. എവിടെയോ ഒരു പട്ടി അപ്പോള്‍ കുരക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

സര്ര്‍പ്പക്കവിലെ പാമ്പുകള്‍ ഇഴഞ്ഞു നടക്കണ നേരമാണ് ഇതു.
എത്ര പറഞ്ഞാലും കേള്‍ക്കില്ല അവന്‍ - അമ്മൂമ ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.... അപ്പോഴെഴ്ക്കും ആ ശബ്ദം കുറച്ചകലെയായി കഴിഞ്ഞു . യാരുക്കാകെ യാരുക്കാകെ, ഇന്ത വസന്ത മാളികൈ..... ഏതാനും നിമിഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കകം അകലെ നിന്നു ഒരു കരച്ചില്‍ കേള്‍ക്കാമായിരുന്നു, എന്നെ തല്ലല്ലേ , എന്നെ തല്ലല്ലേ,...... എന്നുള്ള കരച്ചില്‍... അപ്പോള്‍ മുഴങ്ങി കേട്ട ശബ്ദം ഇതായിരുന്നു - ആര്രാടി ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഇവിടെന്നു ഓടി പോയത്..... നിന്റെ മറ്റവനെ ഞാന്‍ ഒരു ദിവസം കൊല്ലും........ ഏതാനും മിനിട്ടുകള്‍ക്കകം ആ രണ്ടു ശബ്ദങ്ങളും നിലച്ചു. മറ്റൊരു ദിവസത്തിന്റെ അന്ത്യം. മറ്റൊരു നാളേക്ക് വേണ്ടി രണ്ടു പേരും മതിമറന്നുരണ്ങുന്ന നിശ്ശബ്ദത....പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും രാവിലെ വെളുപ്പിന് തന്നെ രണ്ടു പേരും അവരവരുടെ പണിക്കായി കൃത്യതയോടെ എത്തി ചേര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു.... മറ്റൊരു സന്ധ്യക്കും, മറ്റൊരു ജമിനി ഗണേശന്‍ പാട്ടിനും, ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ നാരങ്ങ മിട്ടയിക്കുമായി ആ കുട്ടികളും. അതിന് ഒരു പ്രത്യേക മധുരമായിരുന്നു.
